81f17c90f1 perf test: Add 'struct test *' to the test functions 
This way we'll be able to pass more test specific parameters without
having to change this function signature.

Will be used by the upcoming 'shell tests', shell scripts that will
call perf tools and check if they work as expected, comparing its
effects on the system (think 'perf probe foo') the output produced, etc.

10213e2ff2 perf tests attr: Add test_attr__ready function 
We create many test events before the real ones just to test specific
features. But there's no way for attr tests to separate those test
events from those it needs to check.

Adding 'ready' call from the events open interface to trigger/start
events collection for attr test.

Move the subcommand-related files from perf to a new library named
libsubcmd.a.

Since we're moving files anyway, go ahead and rename 'exec_cmd.*' to

721a1f53df perf tests: Pass the subtest index to each test routine 
Some tests have sub-tests we want to run, so allow passing this.

Wang tried to avoid having to touch all tests, but then, having the
test.func in an anonymous union makes the build fail on older compilers,
like the one in RHEL6, where:

  test a = {
	.func = foo,
  };

fails.

To fix it leave the func pointer in the main structure and pass the subtest
index to all tests, end result function is the same, but we have just one
function pointer, not two, with and without the subtest index as an argument.

597bdeb4ab perf test: Keep test result clean if '-v' not set 
According to [1], 'perf test' should avoid output too much information
if '-v' is not set, only 'Ok', 'FAIL' or 'Skip' need to be printed.

This patch removes several messages sent directly to stderr to make
the output clean.

Before this patch:

  # perf test dummy
  23: Test using a dummy software event to keep tracking       : (not supported) Ok

After this patch:

  # perf test dummy
  23: Test using a dummy software event to keep tracking       : Skip

e3541ec752 perf tools, powerpc: Fix compile warnings in tests/attr.c 
We print several '__u64' quantities using '%llu'. On powerpc, we by
default include '<asm-generic/int-l64.h> which results in __u64 being an
unsigned long. This causes compile warnings which are treated as errors
due to '-Werror'.

By defining __SANE_USERSPACE_TYPES__ we include <asm-generic/int-ll64.h>
and define __u64 as unsigned long long.

Changelog[v2]:
	[Michael Ellerman] Use __SANE_USERSPACE_TYPES__ and avoid PRIu64
	format specifier - which as Jiri Olsa pointed out, breaks on x86-64.

000ae33fdb perf tests: Check python path on attr and binding test 
Current perf test code tries to execute python version 2 in order to
test attributes on perf_event_open syscall.  However it's not default
python version anymore a system can have python v3 only or v2 with a
different name (e.g. python2).  So if there's no such python interpreter
with the name 'python', the test would fail like this (yes, it's
happened on my new archlinux laptop :).

13: struct perf_event_attr setup                 :sh: python: command not found
 FAILED!

As we can pass name of the python interpreter on make, use it for
the attr test also.

0c6332e9d8 perf python: Fix breakage introduced by the test_attr infrastructure 
The test_attr infrastructure hooks on the sys_perf_event_open call,
checking if a variable is set and if so calling a function to intercept
calls and do the checking.

But both the variable and the function aren't on objects that are
linked on the python binding, breaking it:

  # perf test -v 15

Fix it by moving the variable to one of the linked object files and
providing a stub for the function in the python.o object, that is only
linked in the python binding.

Now 'perf test' is happy again:

52502bf201 perf tests: Add framework for automated perf_event_attr tests 
The idea is run perf session with kidnapping sys_perf_event_open
function. For each sys_perf_event_open call we store the perf_event_attr
data to the file to be checked later against what we expect.

You can run this by:
  $ python ./tests/attr.py -d ./tests/attr/ -p ./perf -v

v2 changes:
  - preserve errno value in the hook
