605511a848 mfd: Convert tps6586x to irq_domain
Allocate the irq base if it base is not porvided i.e.
in case of device tree invocation of this driver.
Convert the tps6586x driver to irq domain, using a
legacy IRQ mapping if an irq_base is specified in
platform data or dynamically allocated and otherwise
using a linear mapping.

89d16665d3 efivarfs: Use query_variable_info() to limit kmalloc()
We don't want someone who can write EFI variables to be able to
allocate arbitrarily large amounts of memory, so cap it to something
sensible like the amount of free space for EFI variables.

will shortly be an input bridge driver.  This has been in review
/ revision for over a year resulting in a far cleaner result.
Much of the work had been in precursor patches. Here we just
add the buffer set tear up and down support + switch to multiple
buffer pushing in the drivers (a one line change in all users).

renesas_usbhs implements ->pullup() method, switches over
to devm_request_irq(), adds support for DMA Engine and
got a few miscelaneous cleanups.

The NCM gadget got an endianness fix and the Ethernet
gadget a frame size fix.

We're finally removing the g_file_storage gadget and
sticking to g_mass_storage and the new tcm_usb_gadget
gadgets since that was a huge duplicaton of effort anyway.

While removing g_file_storage, we also had to fix a bunch
of defconfigs which were still pointing to the old gadget.

There's a big series getting us closer to being able to
introduce our configfs interface. The series converts
functions into loadable modules which will, eventually,
be registered to the configfs interface.

Other than that there's the usual typo fixes and miscelaneous
cleanups all over the place."

50309a9c2e gpiolib: iron out include ladder mistakes
The <*/gpio.h> includes are updated again: now we need to account
for the problem introduced by commit:
595679a8038584df7b9398bf34f61db3c038bfea
"gpiolib: fix up function prototypes etc"

Actually we need static inlines in include/asm-generic/gpio.h
as well since we may have GPIOLIB but not PINCTRL.
Make sure to move all the CONFIG_PINCTRL business
to the end of the file so we are sure we have
declared struct gpio_chip.

And we need to keep the static inlines in <linux/gpio.h>
but here for the !CONFIG_GENERIC_GPIO case, and then we
may as well throw in a few warnings like the other
prototypes there, if someone would have the bad taste
of compiling without GENERIC_GPIO even.

1e63d7b936 gpiolib: separation of pin concerns
The fact that of_gpiochip_add_pin_range() and
gpiochip_add_pin_range() share too much code is fragile and
will invariably mean that bugs need to be fixed in two places
instead of one.

So separate the concerns of gpiolib.c and gpiolib-of.c and
have the latter call the former as back-end. This is necessary
also when going forward with other device descriptions such
as ACPI.

This is done by:

- Adding a return code to gpiochip_add_pin_range() so we can
  reliably check whether this succeeds.

- Get rid of the custom of_pinctrl_add_gpio_range() from
  pinctrl. Instead create of_pinctrl_get() to just retrive the
  pin controller per se from an OF node. This composite
  function was just begging to be deleted, it was way to
  purpose-specific.

- Use pinctrl_dev_get_name() to get the name of the retrieved
  pin controller and use that to call back into the generic
  gpiochip_add_pin_range().

Now the pin range is only allocated and tied to a pin
controller from the core implementation in gpiolib.c.

Got most of it's function prototypes wrong, so fix this up by:

- Moving the void declarations into static inlines in
  <linux/gpio.h> (previously the actual prototypes were declared
  here...)

- Declare the gpiochip_add_pin_range() and
  gpiochip_remove_pin_ranges() functions in <asm-generic/gpio.h>
  together with the pin range struct declaration itself.

- Actually only implement these very functions in gpiolib.c
  if CONFIG_PINCTRL is set.

- Additionally export the symbols since modules will need to
  be able to do this.

a6c45b99a6 pinctrl/coh901: use irqdomain, allocate irqdescs
This switches the COH 901 pinctrl driver to allocate its GPIO
IRQs dynamically, and start to use a linear irqdomain to map
from the hardware IRQs.

This way we can cut away the complex allocation of IRQ numbers
from the <mach/irqs.h> file.

f23f1516b6 gpiolib: provide provision to register pin ranges
pinctrl subsystem needs gpio chip base to prepare set of gpio
pin ranges, which a given pinctrl driver can handle. This is
important to handle pinctrl gpio request calls in order to
program a given pin properly for gpio operation.

As gpio base is allocated dynamically during gpiochip
registration, presently there exists no clean way to pass this
information to the pinctrl subsystem.

After few discussions from [1], it was concluded that may be
gpio controller reporting the pin range it supports, is a
better way than pinctrl subsystem directly registering it.

7e10ee68f8 Revert "pinctrl: remove pinctrl_remove_gpio_range"
This reverts earlier commit which removed
pinctrl_remove_gpio_range(), because at that time there
weren't any more users of that routine. It was removed as the
removal of ranges was done in unregister of pinctrl.

But as we are now registering stuff from gpiolib, we may
remove and insert a gpio module multiple times. So, we
need this routine again.

  8) When the QFQ packet scheduler sees TSO/GSO packets it does not
     handle things properly, and in fact ends up corrupting it's
     datastructures as well as mis-schedule packets.  Fix from Paolo
     Valente.

  9) Fix oopser in skb_loop_sk(), from Eric Leblond.

  10) CXGB4 passes partially uninitialized datastructures in to FW
      commands, fix from Vipul Pandya.

  11) When we send unsolicited ipv6 neighbour advertisements, we should
      send them to the link-local allnodes multicast address, as per
      RFC4861.  Fix from Hannes Frederic Sowa.

  12) There is some kind of bug in the usbnet's kevent deferral
      mechanism, but more immediately when it triggers an uncontrolled
      stream of kernel messages spam the log.  Rate limit the error log
      message triggered when this problem occurs, as sending thousands
      of error messages into the kernel log doesn't help matters at all,
      and in fact makes further diagnosis more difficult.

  13) Fix gianfar restore from hibernation, from Wang Dongsheng.

  14) The netlink message attribute sizes are wrong in the ipv6 GRE

This callback buffer is meant to be opaque to users, but basically
adds a very simple pass through buffer to which data may be
pushed when it is inserted into the buffer list.

bff73156d3 PCI: Provide method to reduce the number of total VFs supported
Some implementations of SRIOV provide a capability structure
value of TotalVFs that is greater than what the software can support.
Provide a method to reduce the capability structure reported value
to the value the driver can support.
This ensures sysfs reports the current capability of the system,
hardware and software.
Example for its use: igb & ixgbe -- report 8 & 64 as TotalVFs,
but drivers only support 7 & 63 maximum.

1789382a72 PCI: SRIOV control and status via sysfs
Provide files under sysfs to determine the maximum number of VFs
an SR-IOV-capable PCIe device supports, and methods to enable and
disable the VFs on a per-device basis.

Currently, VF enablement by SR-IOV-capable PCIe devices is done
via driver-specific module parameters.  If not setup in modprobe files,
it requires admin to unload & reload PF drivers with number of desired
VFs to enable.  Additionally, the enablement is system wide: all
devices controlled by the same driver have the same number of VFs
enabled.  Although the latter is probably desired, there are PCI
configurations setup by system BIOS that may not enable that to occur.

Two files are created for the PF of PCIe devices with SR-IOV support:

    sriov_totalvfs	Contains the maximum number of VFs the device
			could support as reported by the TotalVFs register
			in the SR-IOV extended capability.

    sriov_numvfs	Contains the number of VFs currently enabled on
			this device as reported by the NumVFs register in
			the SR-IOV extended capability.

			Writing zero to this file disables all VFs.

			Writing a positive number to this file enables that
			number of VFs.

These files are readable for all SR-IOV PF devices.  Writes to the
sriov_numvfs file are effective only if a driver that supports the
sriov_configure() method is attached.

0bce04be44 of/address: sparc: Declare of_address_to_resource() as an extern function for sparc again
This bug-fix makes sure that of_address_to_resource is defined extern for sparc
so that the sparc-specific implementation of of_address_to_resource() is once
again used when including include/linux/of_address.h in a sparc context. A
number of drivers in mainline relies on this function working for sparc.

The bug was introduced in a850a75544, "of/address:
add empty static inlines for !CONFIG_OF". Contrary to that commit title, the
static inlines are added for !CONFIG_OF_ADDRESS, and CONFIG_OF_ADDRESS is never
defined for sparc. This is good behavior for the other functions in
include/linux/of_address.h, as the extern functions defined in
drivers/of/address.c only gets linked when OF_ADDRESS is configured. However,
for of_address_to_resource there exists a sparc-specific implementation in
arch/sparc/arch/sparc/kernel/of_device_common.c

574bd9f7c7 cgroup: implement generic child / descendant walk macros
Currently, cgroup doesn't provide any generic helper for walking a
given cgroup's children or descendants.  This patch adds the following
three macros.

* cgroup_for_each_child() - walk immediate children of a cgroup.

* cgroup_for_each_descendant_pre() - visit all descendants of a cgroup
  in pre-order tree traversal.

* cgroup_for_each_descendant_post() - visit all descendants of a
  cgroup in post-order tree traversal.

All three only require the user to hold RCU read lock during
traversal.  Verifying that each iterated cgroup is online is the
responsibility of the user.  When used with proper synchronization,
cgroup_for_each_descendant_pre() can be used to propagate state
updates to descendants in reliable way.  See comments for details.

    documentation on synchronization rules.

eb6fd5040e cgroup: use rculist ops for cgroup->children
Use RCU safe list operations for cgroup->children.  This will be used
to implement cgroup children / descendant walking which can be used by
controllers.

Note that cgroup_create() now puts a new cgroup at the end of the
->children list instead of head.  This isn't strictly necessary but is
done so that the iteration order is more conventional.

a8638030f6 cgroup: add cgroup_subsys->post_create()
Currently, there's no way for a controller to find out whether a new
cgroup finished all ->create() allocatinos successfully and is
considered "live" by cgroup.

This becomes a problem later when we add generic descendants walking
to cgroup which can be used by controllers as controllers don't have a
synchronization point where it can synchronize against new cgroups
appearing in such walks.

This patch adds ->post_create().  It's called after all ->create()
succeeded and the cgroup is linked into the generic cgroup hierarchy.
This plays the counterpart of ->pre_destroy().

When used in combination with the to-be-added generic descendant
iterators, ->post_create() can be used to implement reliable state
inheritance.  It will be explained with the descendant iterators.

If for some reason (typically "split-brained" cluster manager)
drbd replica data has diverged, we can chose a victim,
and reconnect using "--discard-my-data", causing the victim
to become sync-target, fetching all changed blocks from the peer.

If we are Primary, we are potentially in use, and we refuse to
"roll back" changes to the data below the page cache and other users.

Rename the error symbol for this to ERR_DISCARD_IMPOSSIBLE.

58ffa580a7 drbd: introduce stop-sector to online verify
We now can schedule only a specific range of sectors for online verify,
or interrupt a running verify without interrupting the connection.

Had to bump the protocol version differently, we are now 101.
Added verify_can_do_stop_sector() { protocol >= 97 && protocol != 100; }

Also, the return value convention for worker callbacks has changed,
we returned "true/false" for "keep the connection up" in 8.3,
we return 0 for success and <= for failure in 8.4.

2be975c6d9 Input: introduce managed input devices (add devres support)
There is a demand from driver's writers to use managed devices framework
for their drivers. Unfortunately up to this moment input devices did not
provide support for managed devices and that lead to mixing two styles
of resource management which usually introduced more bugs, such as
manually unregistering input device but relying in devres to free
interrupt handler which (unless device is properly shut off) can cause
ISR to reference already freed memory.

This change introduces devm_input_allocate_device() that will allocate
managed instance of input device so that driver writers who prefer
using devm_* framework do not have to mix 2 styles.

fd47d3e1c2 jbd2: remove VLAIS usage from JBD2 code
The use of variable length arrays in structs (VLAIS) in the Linux Kernel code
precludes the use of compilers which don't implement VLAIS (for instance the
Clang compiler). Since ctx is always a 32-bit CRC, hard coding a size of 4
bytes accomplishes the same thing without the use of VLAIS. This is the same
technique already employed in fs/ext4/ext4.h

By disabling al-updates one might increase performace. The price for
that is that in case a crashed primary (that had al-updates disabled)
is reintegraded, it will receive a full-resync instead of a bitmap
