A scan request is split into multiple scan commands queued in
scan_pending_q. Each scan command will be sent to firmware and
its response is handlded one after another.
If any error is detected while parsing IE in command response
buffer the remaining data will be ignored and error is returned.
We should check if there is any more scan commands pending in
the queue before returning error. This ensures that we will call
cfg80211_scan_done if this is the last scan command, or send
next scan command in scan_pending_q to firmware.

Currently, the ACPI namespace scanning code creates platform device
objects for ACPI device nodes whose IDs match the contents of the
acpi_platform_device_ids[] table. However, this adds a superfluous
special case into acpi_bus_device_attach() and makes it more
difficult to follow than it has to be. It also will make it more
difficult to implement removal code for those platform device objects
in the future.
For the above reasons, introduce a struct acpi_scan_handler object
for creating platform devices and move the code related to that from
acpi_bus_device_attach() to the .attach() callback of that object.
Also move the acpi_platform_device_ids[] table to acpi_platform.c.

for representing the object used to set up ACPI interrupt links and
to remove data structures used for this purpose before unregistering
the corresponding ACPI device nodes.
This simplifies the code slightly and reduces the kernel's memory
footprint by avoiding the registration of a struct device_driver
object with the driver core and creation of its sysfs directory
which is unnecessary.

Introduce struct acpi_scan_handler for representing objects that
will do configuration tasks depending on ACPI device nodes'
hardware IDs (HIDs).
Currently, those tasks are done either directly by the ACPI namespace
scanning code or by ACPI device drivers designed specifically for
this purpose. None of the above is desirable, however, because
doing that directly in the namespace scanning code makes that code
overly complicated and difficult to follow and doing that in
"special" device drivers leads to a great deal of confusion about
their role and to confusing interactions with the driver core (for
example, sysfs directories are created for those drivers, but they
are completely unnecessary and only increase the kernel's memory
footprint in vain).

This change fixes a deadlock when the multiplexer is closed while there
are still client side ports open.
When the multiplexer is closed and there are active tty's it tries to
close them with tty_vhangup. This has a problem though, because
tty_vhangup needs the tty_lock. This patch changes it to unlock the
tty_lock before attempting the hangup and relocks afterwards. The
additional call to tty_port_tty_set is needed because otherwise the
port stays active because of the reference counter.
This change also exposed another problem that other code paths don't
expect that the multiplexer could have been closed. This patch also adds
checks for these cases in the gsmtty_ class of function that could be
called.
The documentation explicitly states that "first close all virtual ports
before closing the physical port" but we've found this to not always
reality in our field situations. The GPRS / UTMS modem sometimes crashes
and needs a power cycle in that case which means cleanly shutting down
everything is not always possible. This change makes it much more robust
for our situation where at least the system is recoverable with this patch
and doesn't hang in a deadlock situation inside the kernel.
The patch is against the long term support kernel (3.4.27) and should
apply cleanly to more recent branches. Tested with a Telit GE864-QUADV2
and Telit HE910 modem.

of_node_put() on it when done.
of_find_node_by_name() will call of_node_put() against from parameter,

The comedi core module optionally allocates some legacy board minor
devices on module load and cleans these up on module exit. These are
used for manual configuration of comedi boards (for those low-level
comedi drivers that support manual configuration - mainly for ISA
boards). Other board minor devices are created and destroyed
dynamically in response to bus device probe and remove requests. The
ioctl used for manual configuration (attachment) and removal
(detachment) of devices is COMEDI_DEVCONFIG, but that works for any
board minor device, including those that were originally created
dynamically.
If the COMEDI_DEVCONFIG ioctl is used to manually detach an
automatically created and attached device, commit
7d3135af39 ("staging: comedi: prevent
auto-unconfig of manually configured devices") ensures that the board
minor will no longer be automatically detached and destroyed by a bus
device remove request. From that point on the board minor behaves more
like one of the comedi "legacy" board minors. (There would be some
justification for destroying the board minor instead, but I'd rather
leave that decision until removal of board minors has been
made safer than it currently is.) Although the board minor behaves more
like a legacy board minor, it is not currently cleaned up on module
exit. In fact, the module exit code will bug out because this board
minor has not been cleaned up.
Change comedi_cleanup_legacy_minors() (called from the module exit code,
and from the module init code on error) to clean up all board minors.
Rename the function to comedi_cleanup_board_minors() to reflect the
change in functionality.

Comedi has two sorts of minor devices:
(a) normal board minor devices in the range 0 to
COMEDI_NUM_BOARD_MINORS-1 inclusive; and
(b) special subdevice minor devices in the range COMEDI_NUM_BOARD_MINORS
upwards that are used to open the same underlying comedi device as the
normal board minor devices, but with non-default read and write
subdevices for asynchronous commands.
The special subdevice minor devices get created when a board supporting
asynchronous commands is attached to a normal board minor device, and
destroyed when the board is detached from the normal board minor device.
One way to attach or detach a board is by using the COMEDI_DEVCONFIG
ioctl. This should only be used on normal board minors as the special
subdevice minors are too ephemeral. In particular, the change
introduced in commit 7d3135af39 ("staging:
comedi: prevent auto-unconfig of manually configured devices") breaks
horribly for special subdevice minor devices.
Since there's no legitimate use for the COMEDI_DEVCONFIG ioctl on a
special subdevice minor device node, disallow it and return -ENOTTY.

The dev parameter is the device requesting the data.
In this case it should be &pdev->dev rather than pdev->dev.parent.
The dev parameter is used to call devm_kzalloc in of_get_regulator_init_data(),
which means this fixes a memory leak because the memory is allocated every time
probe() is called, thus it should be freed when this driver is unloaded.

virtio_ccw_setup_vq() failed to unwind correctly on errors. In
particular, it failed to delete the virtqueue on errors, leading to
list corruption when virtio_ccw_del_vqs() iterated over a virtqueue
that had not been added to the vcdev's list.
Fix this with redoing the error unwinding in virtio_ccw_setup_vq(),
using a single path for all errors.

According to include/linux/backlight.h, the fb_blank field is to be
removed and blank status should preferably be set by setting the
BL_CORE_FBBLANK bit of the state field. This patch ensures this

The MIPS based Ralink WiSoC platform has 1 or more 8250 compatible serial cores.
To make them work we require the same quirks that are used by AU1x00.

There is a kind of precedence problem here, but it doesn't affect how
the code works because ->serial_signals is unsigned char. We want to
clear two flags here.

Without the parenthesis then it does:
info->serial_signals &= 0x5f;
With the parenthesis it does:
info->serial_signals &= 0xffffff5f;
info->serial_signals is an unsigned char so the two statements are
equivalent, but it's cleaner to add the parenthesis. In other dtr_rts()
functions the parenthesis are there so this makes it more consistent.
Other changes:
Convert all + uses to | for these bit operations.
Reorder the multiple fields for consistency.
Update the comments too.

Add support for later SUNIX (TIMEDIA) Universal PCI Single and Multi-Port
Communications Boards.
These boards have PCI Vendor ID 1fd4 with device ID 1999 but otherwise
appear to be the same as the TIMEDIA boards already supported by 8250_pci
and parport_serial.
Tested with:
a. the two port serial board part number SER5037A,
b. the two port serial and one port parallel board part number
MIO5079A.

The host expects that the pressure report includes the pressure due to the
pages that have been ballooned. Make necessary adjustments to reflect that.
Also, include the free memory information in the pressure report.

Add the following file hierarchy to debugfs:

The 'peers' file (read-only) contains status and configuration
info for attached peers for the given fwserial unit.
The 'stats' file (read-only) contains statistics and data profiling
information for each tty port for the given fwserial unit.

Register a second tty driver to create loopback devices for
each firewire node. Note that the loopback devices are numbered
from 0; the tty->index is transformed when used to index the
port table.
Remove the hack that previously enabled this.

When a port has been reserved in an attempt to connect to a peer
but that attempt does not succeed, releasing the port should not
reset the port line status. Although resetting is functionally
harmless, it can appear as if a remote peer dropped carrier to a
port it was not attached to (which can be confusing).

Devices which are OHCI v1.0/ v1.1/ v1.2-draft compliant or
RFC 2734 compliant are required by specification to support
max_rec of 8 (512 bytes) or more. Accept reported value.
