ANDROID: fips140: add dump_jitterentropy command to fips140_lab_util
For the entropy analysis, we must provide some output from the Jitter RNG: a large amount of output from one instance, and a smaller amount of output from each of a certain number of instances. The original plan was to use a build of the userspace jitterentropy library that matches the kernel's jitterentropy_rng as closely as possible. However, it's now being requested that the output be gotten from the kernel instead. Now that fips140_lab_util depends on AF_ALG anyway, it's straightforward to dump output from jitterentropy_rng instances using AF_ALG. Therefore, add a command dump_jitterentropy which supports this. Bug: 188620248 Change-Id: I78eb26250e88f2fc28fc44aa201acbe5b84df8bb Signed-off-by: Eric Biggers <ebiggers@google.com> (cherry picked from commit dc015032666ece133065b7fea73f5709f735c9b0) |

samples/bpf, xdpsock: Fix race when running for fix duration of time
[ Upstream commit 8fa42d78f6354bb96ad3a079dcbef528ca9fa9e0 ]
When running xdpsock for a fix duration of time before terminating
using --duration=<n>, there is a race condition that may cause xdpsock
to terminate immediately.
When running for a fixed duration of time the check to determine when to
terminate execution is in is_benchmark_done() and is being executed in
the context of the poller thread,
if (opt_duration > 0) {
unsigned long dt = (get_nsecs() - start_time);
if (dt >= opt_duration)
benchmark_done = true;
}
However start_time is only set after the poller thread have been
created. This leaves a small window when the poller thread is starting
and calls is_benchmark_done() for the first time that start_time is not
yet set. In that case start_time have its initial value of 0 and the
duration check fails as it do not correlate correctly for the
applications start time and immediately sets benchmark_done which in
turn terminates the xdpsock application.
Fix this by setting start_time before creating the poller thread.

ftrace/samples: Add missing prototypes direct functions
commit 0daf5cb217a9ca8ae91b8f966ddae322699fb71d upstream. There's another compilation fail (first here [1]) reported by kernel test robot for W=1 clang build: >> samples/ftrace/ftrace-direct-multi-modify.c:7:6: warning: no previous prototype for function 'my_direct_func1' [-Wmissing-prototypes] void my_direct_func1(unsigned long ip) Direct functions in ftrace direct sample modules need to have prototypes defined. They are already global in order to be visible for the inline assembly, so there's no problem. The kernel test robot reported just error for ftrace-direct-multi-modify, but I got same errors also for the rest of the modules touched by this patch. ANDROID: fips140: add show_invalid_inputs command to fips140_lab_util
Add a new fips140_lab_util command 'show_invalid_inputs' which uses AF_ALG to call some crypto algorithms with invalid parameters to show that they fail. This is needed to meet a new requirement we've received from the lab. This requirement is vague, but a representative sample of algorithms and inputs appears to be acceptable. For this to work, AF_ALG needs to be enabled in the kernel. This makes fips140_lab_util start depending on a custom kernel build, not just on a custom fips140 module build as was the case before. However, the lab testing was going to need custom boot images anyway once fips140.ko is included in the normal builds, since the production build of fips140.ko won't have CONFIG_CRYPTO_FIPS140_MOD_EVAL_TESTING=y. AF_ALG is also needed to do the Jitter RNG entropy analysis properly, and the AF_ALG-enabled kernel can also be reused for ACVP testing. ANDROID: fips140: refactor and rename fips140_lab_test
fips140_lab_test doesn't really do any tests per se, but rather is a utility program that dumps some output. The actual "test" is when the lab checks the output; we aren't allowed to check it ourselves. We also need to add some new functionality, which would work well as sub-commands. Also, the original idea was that this was just sample code which the lab would modify, but that's not actually happening. Therefore, rename fips140_lab_test to fips140_lab_util, and refactor its functionality into sub-commands 'show_module_version' and 'show_service_indicators'. This fits better with what is needed. ANDROID: fips140: add userspace interface for evaluation testing
The FIPS lab is required to test the service indicators and version information services of the module, i.e. the fips140_is_approved_service() and fips140_module_version() functions. There are several ways we could support this: - Implement the tests in the module ourselves. However it's unclear that CMVP would allow this, and we would need the full list of tests, which could change over time depending on what the lab decides to do. - Support the lab writing, building, and loading a custom kernel module (or a custom kernel image) that tests these functions. - Provide a userspace interface to these services, restricted to builds with CONFIG_CRYPTO_FIPS140_MOD_EVAL_TESTING=y. This would allow writing the tests in userspace, which would be much easier. Implement the last solution, since it's the easier of the two solutions that are "guaranteed" to be allowed. Make the module register a char device which supports some ioctls, one per function that needs to be tested. Also provide some sample userspace code in samples/crypto/. Note: copy_to_user() would break the integrity check, so take some care to exclude it. This is allowed since this is non-production code. samples: bpf: Fix tracex7 error raised on the missing argument
[ Upstream commit 7d07006f05922b95518be403f08ef8437b67aa32 ] The current behavior of 'tracex7' doesn't consist with other bpf samples tracex{1..6}. Other samples do not require any argument to run with, but tracex7 should be run with btrfs device argument. (it should be executed with test_override_return.sh) Currently, tracex7 doesn't have any description about how to run this program and raises an unexpected error. And this result might be confusing since users might not have a hunch about how to run this program. // Current behavior # ./tracex7 sh: 1: Syntax error: word unexpected (expecting ")") // Fixed behavior # ./tracex7 ERROR: Run with the btrfs device argument! In order to fix this error, this commit adds logic to report a message and exit when running this program with a missing argument. Additionally in test_override_return.sh, there is a problem with multiple directory(tmpmnt) creation. So in this commit adds a line with removing the directory with every execution. Fix the tx_only micro-benchmark in xdpsock to take frame size into
consideration. It was hardcoded to the default value of frame_size
which is 4K. Changing this on the command line to 2K made half of the
packets illegal as they were outside the umem and were therefore

kfifo: fix ternary sign extension bugs
[ Upstream commit 926ee00ea24320052b46745ef4b00d91c05bd03d ]
The intent with this code was to return negative error codes but instead
it returns positives.
The problem is how type promotion works with ternary operations. These
functions return long, "ret" is an int and "copied" is a u32. The
negative error code is first cast to u32 so it becomes a high positive and
then cast to long where it's still a positive.
We could fix this by declaring "ret" as a ssize_t but let's just get rid
of the ternaries instead.

[ Upstream commit 092fde0f863b72b67c4d6dc03844f5658fc00a35 ]
Fix a possible hang in xdpsock that can occur when using multiple
threads. In this case, one or more of the threads might get stuck in
the while-loop in tx_only after the user has signaled the main thread
to stop execution. In this case, no more Tx packets will be sent, so a
thread might get stuck in the aforementioned while-loop. Fix this by
introducing a test inside the while-loop to check if the benchmark has
been terminated. If so, return from the function.

samples/bpf: Set rlimit for memlock to infinity in all samples
The memlock rlimit is a notorious source of failure for BPF programs. Most of the samples just set it to infinity, but a few used a lower limit. The problem with unconditionally setting a lower limit is that this will also override the limit if the system-wide setting is *higher* than the limit being set, which can lead to failures on systems that lock a lot of memory, but set 'ulimit -l' to unlimited before running a sample. One fix for this is to only conditionally set the limit if the current limit is lower, but it is simpler to just unify all the samples and have them all set the limit to infinity. bpf, libbpf: Guard bpf inline asm from bpf_tail_call_static
Yaniv reported a compilation error after pulling latest libbpf:
[...]
../libbpf/src/root/usr/include/bpf/bpf_helpers.h:99:10: error:
unknown register name 'r0' in asm
: "r0", "r1", "r2", "r3", "r4", "r5");
[...]
The issue got triggered given Yaniv was compiling tracing programs with native
target (e.g. x86) instead of BPF target, hence no BTF generated vmlinux.h nor
CO-RE used, and later llc with -march=bpf was invoked to compile from LLVM IR
to BPF object file. Given that clang was expecting x86 inline asm and not BPF
one the error complained that these regs don't exist on the former.
Guard bpf_tail_call_static() with defined(__bpf__) where BPF inline asm is valid
to use. BPF tracing programs on more modern kernels use BPF target anyway and
thus the bpf_tail_call_static() function will be available for them. BPF inline
asm is supported since clang 7 (clang <= 6 otherwise throws same above error),
and __bpf_unreachable() since clang 8, therefore include the latter condition
in order to prevent compilation errors for older clang versions. Given even an
old Ubuntu 18.04 LTS has official LLVM packages all the way up to llvm-10, I did
not bother to special case the __bpf_unreachable() inside bpf_tail_call_static()
further.
Also, undo the sockex3_kern's use of bpf_tail_call_static() sample given they
still have the old hacky way to even compile networking progs with native instead
of BPF target so bpf_tail_call_static() won't be defined there anymore.

Pull networking updates from Jakub Kicinski: - Add redirect_neigh() BPF packet redirect helper, allowing to limit stack traversal in common container configs and improving TCP back-pressure. Daniel reports ~10Gbps => ~15Gbps single stream TCP performance gain. - Expand netlink policy support and improve policy export to user space. (Ge)netlink core performs request validation according to declared policies. Expand the expressiveness of those policies (min/max length and bitmasks). Allow dumping policies for particular commands. This is used for feature discovery by user space (instead of kernel version parsing or trial and error). - Support IGMPv3/MLDv2 multicast listener discovery protocols in bridge. - Allow more than 255 IPv4 multicast interfaces. - Add support for Type of Service (ToS) reflection in SYN/SYN-ACK packets of TCPv6. - In Multi-patch TCP (MPTCP) support concurrent transmission of data on multiple subflows in a load balancing scenario. Enhance advertising addresses via the RM_ADDR/ADD_ADDR options. - Support SMC-Dv2 version of SMC, which enables multi-subnet deployments. - Allow more calls to same peer in RxRPC. - Support two new Controller Area Network (CAN) protocols - CAN-FD and ISO 15765-2:2016. - Add xfrm/IPsec compat layer, solving the 32bit user space on 64bit kernel problem. - Add TC actions for implementing MPLS L2 VPNs. - Improve nexthop code - e.g. handle various corner cases when nexthop objects are removed from groups better, skip unnecessary notifications and make it easier to offload nexthops into HW by converting to a blocking notifier. - Support adding and consuming TCP header options by BPF programs, opening the doors for easy experimental and deployment-specific TCP option use. - Reorganize TCP congestion control (CC) initialization to simplify life of TCP CC implemented in BPF. - Add support for shipping BPF programs with the kernel and loading them early on boot via the User Mode Driver mechanism, hence reusing all the user space infra we have. - Support sleepable BPF programs, initially targeting LSM and tracing. - Add bpf_d_path() helper for returning full path for given 'struct path'. - Make bpf_tail_call compatible with bpf-to-bpf calls. - Allow BPF programs to call map_update_elem on sockmaps. - Add BPF Type Format (BTF) support for type and enum discovery, as well as support for using BTF within the kernel itself (current use is for pretty printing structures). - Support listing and getting information about bpf_links via the bpf syscall. - Enhance kernel interfaces around NIC firmware update. Allow specifying overwrite mask to control if settings etc. are reset during update; report expected max time operation may take to users; support firmware activation without machine reboot incl. limits of how much impact reset may have (e.g. dropping link or not). - Extend ethtool configuration interface to report IEEE-standard counters, to limit the need for per-vendor logic in user space. - Adopt or extend devlink use for debug, monitoring, fw update in many drivers (dsa loop, ice, ionic, sja1105, qed, mlxsw, mv88e6xxx, dpaa2-eth). - In mlxsw expose critical and emergency SFP module temperature alarms. Refactor port buffer handling to make the defaults more suitable and support setting these values explicitly via the DCBNL interface. - Add XDP support for Intel's igb driver. - Support offloading TC flower classification and filtering rules to mscc_ocelot switches. - Add PTP support for Marvell Octeontx2 and PP2.2 hardware, as well as fixed interval period pulse generator and one-step timestamping in dpaa-eth. - Add support for various auth offloads in WiFi APs, e.g. SAE (WPA3) offload. - Add Lynx PHY/PCS MDIO module, and convert various drivers which have this HW to use it. Convert mvpp2 to split PCS. - Support Marvell Prestera 98DX3255 24-port switch ASICs, as well as 7-port Mediatek MT7531 IP. - Add initial support for QCA6390 and IPQ6018 in ath11k WiFi driver, and wcn3680 support in wcn36xx. - Improve performance for packets which don't require much offloads on recent Mellanox NICs by 20% by making multiple packets share a descriptor entry. - Move chelsio inline crypto drivers (for TLS and IPsec) from the crypto subtree to drivers/net. Move MDIO drivers out of the phy directory. - Clean up a lot of W=1 warnings, reportedly the actively developed subsections of networking drivers should now build W=1 warning free. - Make sure drivers don't use in_interrupt() to dynamically adapt their code. Convert tasklets to use new tasklet_setup API (sadly this conversion is not yet complete). * tag 'net-next-5.10' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/netdev/net-next: (2583 commits) Revert "bpfilter: Fix build error with CONFIG_BPFILTER_UMH" net, sockmap: Don't call bpf_prog_put() on NULL pointer bpf, selftest: Fix flaky tcp_hdr_options test when adding addr to lo bpf, sockmap: Add locking annotations to iterator netfilter: nftables: allow re-computing sctp CRC-32C in 'payload' statements net: fix pos incrementment in ipv6_route_seq_next net/smc: fix invalid return code in smcd_new_buf_create() net/smc: fix valid DMBE buffer sizes net/smc: fix use-after-free of delayed events bpfilter: Fix build error with CONFIG_BPFILTER_UMH cxgb4/ch_ipsec: Replace the module name to ch_ipsec from chcr net: sched: Fix suspicious RCU usage while accessing tcf_tunnel_info bpf: Fix register equivalence tracking. rxrpc: Fix loss of final ack on shutdown rxrpc: Fix bundle counting for exclusive connections netfilter: restore NF_INET_NUMHOOKS ibmveth: Identify ingress large send packets. ibmveth: Switch order of ibmveth_helper calls. cxgb4: handle 4-tuple PEDIT to NAT mode translation selftests: Add VRF route leaking tests ... |

Merge tag 'kernel-clone-v5.9' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/brauner/linux
Pull kernel_clone() updates from Christian Brauner: "During the v5.9 merge window we reworked the process creation codepaths across multiple architectures. After this work we were only left with the _do_fork() helper based on the struct kernel_clone_args calling convention. As was pointed out _do_fork() isn't valid kernelese especially for a helper that isn't just static. This series removes the _do_fork() helper and introduces the new kernel_clone() helper. The process creation cleanup didn't change the name to something more reasonable mainly because _do_fork() was used in quite a few places. So sending this as a separate series seemed the better strategy. I originally intended to send this early in the v5.9 development cycle after the merge window had closed but given that this was touching quite a few places I decided to defer this until the v5.10 merge window" * tag 'kernel-clone-v5.9' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/brauner/linux: sched: remove _do_fork() tracing: switch to kernel_clone() kgdbts: switch to kernel_clone() kprobes: switch to kernel_clone() x86: switch to kernel_clone() sparc: switch to kernel_clone() nios2: switch to kernel_clone() m68k: switch to kernel_clone() ia64: switch to kernel_clone() h8300: switch to kernel_clone() fork: introduce kernel_clone() |

mm,kmemleak-test.c: move kmemleak-test.c to samples dir
kmemleak-test.c is just a kmemleak test module, which also can not be used as a built-in kernel module. Thus, i think it may should not be in mm dir, and move the kmemleak-test.c to samples/kmemleak/kmemleak-test.c. Fix the spelling of built-in by the way. samples: bpf: Refactor XDP kern program maps with BTF-defined map
Most of the samples were converted to use the new BTF-defined MAP as they moved to libbpf, but some of the samples were missing. Instead of using the previous BPF MAP definition, this commit refactors xdp_monitor and xdp_sample_pkts_kern MAP definition with the new BTF-defined MAP format. Also, this commit removes the max_entries attribute at PERF_EVENT_ARRAY map type. The libbpf's bpf_object__create_map() will automatically set max_entries to the maximum configured number of CPUs on the host. Signed-off-by: Daniel T. samples: bpf: Refactor xdp_monitor with libbpf
To avoid confusion caused by the increasing fragmentation of the BPF Loader program, this commit would like to change to the libbpf loader instead of using the bpf_load. Thanks to libbpf's bpf_link interface, managing the tracepoint BPF program is much easier. bpf_program__attach_tracepoint manages the enable of tracepoint event and attach of BPF programs to it with a single interface bpf_link, so there is no need to manage event_fd and prog_fd separately. This commit refactors xdp_monitor with using this libbpf API, and the bpf_load is removed and migrated to libbpf. Signed-off-by: Daniel T. samples: configfs: drop unnecessary ternary operators
Checking pointers for NULL value before passing them to container_of() is pointless because even if we return NULL from the ternary operator, none of the users checks the returned value but they instead dereference it unconditionally. AFAICT this cannot really happen either. Simplify the code by removing the ternary operators from to_childless() et al.
