As all the properties of the usbtmc driver can now be
controlled on a per file descriptor basis by ioctl functions
the sysfs interface is of limited use.
We are not aware about applications that are using the sysfs
parameter TermChar, TermCharEnabled or auto_abort.

Scrubbing pages on initial balloon down can take some time, especially
in nested virtualization case (nested EPT is slow). When HVM/PVH guest is
started with memory= significantly lower than maxmem=, all the extra
pages will be scrubbed before returning to Xen. But since most of them
weren't used at all at that point, Xen needs to populate them first
(from populate-on-demand pool). In nested virt case (Xen inside KVM)
this slows down the guest boot by 15-30s with just 1.5GB needed to be
returned to Xen.
Add runtime parameter to enable/disable it, to allow initially disabling
scrubbing, then enable it back during boot (for example in initramfs).
Such usage relies on assumption that a) most pages ballooned out during
initial boot weren't used at all, and b) even if they were, very few
secrets are in the guest at that time (before any serious userspace
kicks in).
Convert CONFIG_XEN_SCRUB_PAGES to CONFIG_XEN_SCRUB_PAGES_DEFAULT (also
enabled by default), controlling default value for the new runtime
switch.

- The driver for Silead touchscreen configurations has been renamed
from silead_dmi to touchscreen_dmi since it starts supporting other
touchscreens which require some DMI quirks
It also gets expanded to cover cases for Chuwi Vi10, ONDA V891W,
Connect Tablet 9, Onda V820w, and Cube KNote i1101 tablets.
- Another bunch of changes is related to Mellanox platform code to
allow user space to communicate with Mellanox for system control and
monitoring purposes. The driver notifies user on hotplug device
signal receiving.
- ASUS WMI drivers recognize lid flip action on UX360, and correctly
toggles airplane mode LED. In addition the keyboard backlight toggle
gets support.
- ThinkPad ACPI driver enables support for calculator key (on at least
P52). It also has been fixed to support three characters model
designators, which are used for modern laptops. Earlier the battery,
marked as BAT1, on ThinkPad laptops has not been configured properly,
which is fixed. On the opposite the multi-battery configurations now
probed correctly.
- Dell SMBIOS driver starts working on some Dell servers which do not
support token interface. The regression with backlight detection has
also been fixed. In order to support dock mode on some laptops, Intel
virtual button driver has been fixed. The last but not least is the
fix to Intel HID driver due to changes in Dell systems that prevented
to use power button.

Several documents in Documentation/vm fit quite well into the "admin/user
guide" category. The documents that don't overload the reader with lots of
implementation details and provide coherent description of certain feature
can be moved to Documentation/admin-guide/mm.

Use sysfs to allow supporting sub-channels. The userspace application
makes request to host to create sub-channels and the UIO kernel
driver populates the sysfs per-channel directory with a binary
attribute file that can be used to read/write ring.

This extends existing vmbus related sysfs structure to provide per-channel
state information. This is useful when diagnosing issues with multiple
queues in networking and storage.
The existing sysfs only displayed information about the primary
channel. The one place it reported multiple channels was the
channel_vp_mapping file which violated the sysfs convention
of one value per file.

NVMEM has been in kernel since v4.2 but the ABI document was missing
since then. userspace interface did not change since then and seems

Today only a few sysfs nodes under /sys/hypervisor/ are documented
for Xen in Documentation/ABI/testing/sysfs-hypervisor-pmu.
Add the remaining Xen sysfs nodes under /sys/hypervisor/ in a new
file Documentation/ABI/stable/sysfs-hypervisor-xen and add the Xen
specific sysfs docs to the MAINTAINERS file.

This change adds a driver for the 16550-based Aspeed virtual UART
device. We use a similar process to the of_serial driver for device
probe, but expose some VUART-specific functions through sysfs too.
The VUART is two UART 'front ends' connected by their FIFO (no actual
serial line in between). One is on the BMC side (management controller)
and one is on the host CPU side.
This driver is for the BMC side. The sysfs files allow the BMC
userspace, which owns the system configuration policy, to specify at
what IO port and interrupt number the host side will appear to the host
on the Host <-> BMC LPC bus. It could be different on a different system
(though most of them use 3f8/4).
OpenPOWER host firmware doesn't like it when the host-side of the
VUART's FIFO is not drained. This driver only disables host TX discard
mode when the port is in use. We set the VUART enabled bit when we bind
to the device, and clear it on unbind.
We don't want to do this on open/release, as the host may be using this
bit to configure serial output modes, which is independent of whether
the devices has been opened by BMC userspace.

commit 5590f3196b ("drivers/core/of: Add symlink to device-tree from
devices with an OF node") added a symlink called "of_node" to sysfs
however the documentation describes it as "of_path".
Fix the documentation to match what the code actually does.

On serious situations, UBI may detect serious device corruption,
and switch to read-only mode to protect the data and allow debugging.
This commit exposes this ro-mode on sysfs, so it can be obtained
by userspace tools.

Pull orangefs filesystem from Mike Marshall.
This finally merges the long-pending orangefs filesystem, which has been
much cleaned up with input from Al Viro over the last six months. From
the documentation file:
"OrangeFS is an LGPL userspace scale-out parallel storage system. It
is ideal for large storage problems faced by HPC, BigData, Streaming
Video, Genomics, Bioinformatics.
Orangefs, originally called PVFS, was first developed in 1993 by Walt
Ligon and Eric Blumer as a parallel file system for Parallel Virtual
Machine (PVM) as part of a NASA grant to study the I/O patterns of
parallel programs.
Orangefs features include:
- Distributes file data among multiple file servers
- Supports simultaneous access by multiple clients
- Stores file data and metadata on servers using local file system
and access methods
- Userspace implementation is easy to install and maintain
- Direct MPI support
- Stateless"

Hinawa [https://github.com/takaswie/libhinawa/] is a library for
access to IEEE 1394 devices. As a gobject introspection library, it
facilitates writing applications in high-level programming languages.
Besides generic I/O via /dev/fw* (firewire-cdev ABI), it also supports
control of IEEE 1394 audio hardware via ALSA hwdep ABIs which are
provided by sound/firewire drivers.

There is still quite a bit of code using this interface, so we can't
just remove it. Hopefully it will be possible in the future, but since
its scheduled removal date is past 2 years already, we are better having
the documentation reflecting the current state of things.

Add vendor and device attributes to VMBUS devices. These will be used
by Hyper-V tools as well user-level RDMA libraries that will use the
vendor/device tuple to discover the RDMA device.
