c0a3d21584 media: s5p-mfc: Fix in register read and write for H264
[ Upstream commit 06710cd5d2436135046898d7e4b9408c8bb99446 ]

Few of the H264 encoder registers written were not getting reflected
since the read values were not stored and getting overwritten.

[ Upstream commit d3f3c2fe54e30b0636496d842ffbb5ad3a547f9b ]

During error on CLOSE_INSTANCE command, ctx_work_bits was not getting
cleared. During consequent mfc execution NULL pointer dereferencing of
this context led to kernel panic. This patch fixes this issue by making
sure to clear ctx_work_bits always.

dcd1a4ade5 media: s5p-mfc: Fix to handle reference queue during finishing
[ Upstream commit d8a46bc4e1e0446459daa77c4ce14218d32dacf9 ]

On receiving last buffer driver puts MFC to MFCINST_FINISHING state which
in turn skips transferring of frame from SRC to REF queue. This causes
driver to stop MFC encoding and last frame is lost.

This patch guarantees safe handling of frames during MFCINST_FINISHING and
correct clearing of workbit to avoid early stopping of encoding.

[ Upstream commit f50ebe10f5d8092c37e2bd430c78e03bf38b1e20 ]

Commit 5441e9dafd ("[media] s5p-mfc: Core support for MFC v7")
which adds mfc v7 support for Exynos3250 and use the same compatible
string as used by Exynos5240 but both the IPs are a bit different in
terms of IP clock.
Add variant driver data based on the new compatible string
"samsung,exynos3250-mfc" for Exynos3250 SoC.

b570e36a77 media: s5p-mfc: fix possible null-pointer dereference in s5p_mfc_probe()
[ Upstream commit 8515965e5e33f4feb56134348c95953f3eadfb26 ]

The variable pdev is assigned to dev->plat_dev, and dev->plat_dev is
checked in:
  if (!dev->plat_dev)

This indicates both dev->plat_dev and pdev can be NULL. If so, the
function dev_err() is called to print error information.
  dev_err(&pdev->dev, "No platform data specified\n");

However, &pdev->dev is an illegal address, and it is dereferenced in
dev_err().

To fix this possible null-pointer dereference, replace dev_err() with
mfc_err().

95c520690f media: don't do a 31 bit shift on a signed int
On 32-bits archs, a signed integer has 31 bits plus on extra
bit for signal. Due to that, touching the 32th bit with something
like:

	int bar = 1 << 31;

has an undefined behavior in C on 32 bit architectures, as it
touches the signal bit. This is warned by cppcheck.

Instead, force the numbers to be unsigned, in order to solve this

42e45a9449 media: s5p-mfc: Fix memdev DMA configuration
Having of_reserved_mem_device_init() forcibly reconfigure DMA for all
callers, potentially overriding the work done by a bus-specific
.dma_configure method earlier, is at best a bad idea and at worst
actively harmful. If drivers really need virtual devices to own
dma-coherent memory, they should explicitly configure those devices
based on the appropriate firmware node as they create them.

It looks like the only driver not passing in a proper OF platform device
is s5p-mfc, so move the rogue of_dma_configure() call into that driver
where it logically belongs.

Pull new experimental media request API from Mauro Carvalho Chehab:
 "A new media request API

  This API is needed to support device drivers that can dynamically
  change their parameters for each new frame. The latest versions of
  Google camera and codec HAL depends on such feature.

  At this stage, it supports only stateless codecs.

  It has been discussed for a long time (at least over the last 3-4
  years), and we finally reached to something that seem to work.

  This series contain both the API and core changes required to support
  it and a new m2m decoder driver (cedrus).

  As the current API is still experimental, the only real driver using
  it (cedrus) was added at staging[1]. We intend to keep it there for a
  while, in order to test the API. Only when we're sure that this API
  works for other cases (like encoders), we'll move this driver out of
  staging and set the API into a stone.

  [1] We added support for the vivid virtual driver (used only for
  testing) to it too, as it makes easier to test the API for the ones
  that don't have the cedrus hardware"

4faeaf9c0f media: s5p-mfc: Fix buffer look up in s5p_mfc_handle_frame_{new, copy_time} functions
Look up of buffers in s5p_mfc_handle_frame_new, s5p_mfc_handle_frame_copy_time
functions is not working properly for DMA addresses above 2 GiB. As a result
flags and timestamp of returned buffers are not set correctly and it breaks
operation of GStreamer/OMX plugins which rely on the CAPTURE buffer queue
flags.

Due to improper return type of the get_dec_y_adr, get_dspl_y_adr callbacks
and sign bit extension these callbacks return incorrect address values,
e.g. 0xfffffffffefc0000 instead of 0x00000000fefc0000. Then the statement:

"if (vb2_dma_contig_plane_dma_addr(&dst_buf->b->vb2_buf, 0) == dec_y_addr)"

is always false, which breaks looking up capture queue buffers.

To ensure proper matching by address u32 type is used for the DMA
addresses. This should work on all related SoCs, since the MFC DMA
address width is not larger than 32-bit.

Changes done in this patch are minimal as there is a larger patch series
pending refactoring the whole driver.

Add a menu control V4L2_CID_MPEG_VIDEO_VP8_PROFILE for VP8 profile and make
V4L2_CID_MPEG_VIDEO_VPX_PROFILE an alias of it. This new control is used to
select the desired profile for VP8 encoder and query for supported profiles by
VP8 encoder/decoder.

Though we have originally a control V4L2_CID_MPEG_VIDEO_VPX_PROFILE and its name
contains 'VPX', it works only for VP8 because supported profiles usually differ
between VP8 and VP9. In addition, this control cannot be used for querying since
it is not a menu control but an integer control, which cannot return an
arbitrary set of supported profiles.

The new control V4L2_CID_MPEG_VIDEO_VP8_PROFILE is a menu control as with
controls for other codec profiles. (e.g. H264)

In addition, this patch also fixes the use of V4L2_CID_MPEG_VIDEO_VPX_PROFILE in

a9a08845e9 vfs: do bulk POLL* -> EPOLL* replacement

        L=`git grep -l -w POLL$V | grep -v '^t' | grep -v /um/ | grep -v '^sa' | grep -v '/poll.h$'|grep -v '^D'`
        for f in $L; do sed -i "-es/^\([^\"]*\)\(\<POLL$V\>\)/\\1E\\2/" $f; done
    done

with de-mangling cleanups yet to come.

NOTE! On almost all architectures, the EPOLL* constants have the same
values as the POLL* constants do. But they keyword here is "almost".
For various bad reasons they aren't the same, and epoll() doesn't
actually work quite correctly in some cases due to this on Sparc et al.

The next patch from Al will sort out the final differences, and we

f45ce98775 media: s5p-mfc: Fix lock contention - request_firmware() once
Driver calls request_firmware() whenever the device is opened for the
first time. As the device gets opened and closed, dev->num_inst == 1
is true several times. This is not necessary since the firmware is saved
in the fw_buf. s5p_mfc_load_firmware() copies the buffer returned by
the request_firmware() to dev->fw_buf.

fw_buf sticks around until it gets released from s5p_mfc_remove(), hence
there is no need to keep requesting firmware and copying it to fw_buf.

This might have been overlooked when changes are made to free fw_buf from
the device release interface s5p_mfc_release().

Fix s5p_mfc_load_firmware() to call request_firmware() once and keep state.
Change _probe() to load firmware once fw_buf has been allocated.

s5p_mfc_open() and it continues to call s5p_mfc_load_firmware() and init
hardware which is the step where firmware is written to the device.

This addresses the mfc_mutex contention due to repeated request_firmware()
calls from open() in the following circular locking warning:

a465321ac1 media: s5p-mfc: Remove firmware buf null check in s5p_mfc_load_firmware()
s5p_mfc_load_firmware() will not get called if fw_buf.virt allocation
fails. The allocation happens very early on in the probe routine and
probe fails if allocation fails.

There is no need to check if it is null in s5p_mfc_load_firmware().
Remove the check.
