1673841da0 drm/msm/dpu: change _dpu_plane_calc_bw() to use u64 to avoid overflow

_dpu_plane_calc_bw() uses integer variables to calculate the bandwidth
used during plane bandwidth calculations. However for high resolution
displays this overflows easily and leads to below errors

[dpu error]crtc83 failed performance check -7

Promote the intermediate variables to u64 to avoid overflow.

Apparently no one noticed that mdp5 plane states leak like a sieve
ever since we introduced plane_state->commit refcount a few years ago
in 21a01abbe3 ("drm/atomic: Fix freeing connector/plane state too
early by tracking commits, v3.")

Fix it by using the right helpers.

c3b63584d8 drm/msm/dpu: do not enable color-management if DSPPs are not available

We can not support color management without DSPP blocks being provided
in the HW catalog. Do not enable color management for CRTCs if num_dspps
is 0.

8dbd54d679 drm/msm/dpu: Disallow unallocated resources to be returned

In the event that the topology requests resources that have not been
created by the system (because they are typically not represented in
dpu_mdss_cfg ^1), the resource(s) in global_state (in this case DSC
blocks, until their allocation/assignment is being sanity-checked in
"drm/msm/dpu: Reject topologies for which no DSC blocks are available")
remain NULL but will still be returned out of
dpu_rm_get_assigned_resources, where the caller expects to get an array
containing num_blks valid pointers (but instead gets these NULLs).

To prevent this from happening, where null-pointer dereferences
typically result in a hard-to-debug platform lockup, num_blks shouldn't
increase past NULL blocks and will print an error and break instead.
After all, max_blks represents the static size of the maximum number of
blocks whereas the actual amount varies per platform.

_dpu_cfg to a different struct which has the same patch context.

6571f6ca8a drm/msm: Fix return type of mdp4_lvds_connector_mode_valid

The mode_valid field in drm_connector_helper_funcs is expected to be of
type:
enum drm_mode_status (* mode_valid) (struct drm_connector *connector,
                                     struct drm_display_mode *mode);

The mismatched return type breaks forward edge kCFI since the underlying
function definition does not match the function hook definition.

The return type of mdp4_lvds_connector_mode_valid should be changed from
int to enum drm_mode_status.

598d8f7d86 drm/msm/dpu: index dpu_kms->hw_vbif using vbif_idx

Remove loops over hw_vbif. Instead always VBIF's idx as an index in the
array. This fixes an error in dpu_kms_hw_init(), where we fill
dpu_kms->hw_vbif[i], but check for an error pointer at
dpu_kms->hw_vbif[vbif_idx].

ffbcfb1688 drm/msm/dpu: handle pm_runtime_get_sync() errors in bind path

If there are errors while trying to enable the pm in the
bind path, it will lead to unclocked access of hw revision
register thereby crashing the device.

This will not address why the pm_runtime_get_sync() fails
but at the very least we should be able to prevent the
crash by handling the error and bailing out earlier.

883f1d52a5 drm/msm/mdp5: Return error code in mdp5_mixer_release when deadlock is detected

There is a possibility for mdp5_get_global_state to return
-EDEADLK when acquiring the modeset lock, but currently global_state in
mdp5_mixer_release doesn't check for if an error is returned.

To avoid a NULL dereference error, let's have mdp5_mixer_release
check if an error is returned and propagate that error.

49dc28b4b2 drm/msm/mdp5: Return error code in mdp5_pipe_release when deadlock is detected

mdp5_get_global_state runs the risk of hitting a -EDEADLK when acquiring
the modeset lock, but currently mdp5_pipe_release doesn't check for if
an error is returned. Because of this, there is a possibility of
mdp5_pipe_release hitting a NULL dereference error.

To avoid this, let's have mdp5_pipe_release check if
mdp5_get_global_state returns an error and propogate that error.

- Separated declaration and initialization of *new_state to avoid
  compiler warning
- Fixed some spelling mistakes in commit message

- Return 0 in case where hwpipe is NULL as this is considered normal
  behavior

The “DP timing” requires the active region to be defined in the
bottom-right corner of the frame dimensions which is different
with DSI. Therefore both display_h_end and display_v_end need
to be adjusted accordingly. However current implementation has
only display_h_end adjusted.

9581e07b54 drm/msm/mdp5: check the return of kzalloc()

kzalloc() is a memory allocation function which can return NULL when
some internal memory errors happen. So it is better to check it to
prevent potential wrong memory access.

Besides, since mdp5_plane_reset() is void type, so we should better
set `plane-state` to NULL after releasing it.

Setting the cap without the modifier list is very confusing to
userspace. Fix that by listing the ones we support explicitly.

Stable backport so that userspace can rely on this working in a

The error code returned by platform_get_irq() is stored in 'irq', it's
forgotten to be copied to 'ret' before being returned. As a result, the
value 0 of 'ret' is returned incorrectly.

After the above fix is completed, initializing the local variable 'ret'
to 0 is no longer needed, remove it.

In addition, when dpu_mdss_init() is successfully returned, the value of
'ret' is always 0. Therefore, replace "return ret" with "return 0" to make
the code clearer.

05e41f6f1c drm/msm/dpu: always use mdp device to scale bandwidth
commit a670ff578f1fb855fedc7931fa5bbc06b567af22 upstream.

Currently DPU driver scales bandwidth and core clock for sc7180 only,
while the rest of chips get static bandwidth votes. Make all chipsets
scale bandwidth and clock per composition requirements like sc7180 does.
Drop old voting path completely.

Tested on RB3 (SDM845) and RB5 (SM8250).

6e4ae9b0eb drm/msm/mdp5: Do not multiply vclk line count by 100

Neither vtotal nor drm_mode_vrefresh contain a value that is
premultiplied by 100 making the x100 variable name incorrect and
resulting in vclks_line to become 100 times larger than it is supposed
to be.  The hardware counts 100 clockticks too many before tearcheck,
leading to severe panel issues on at least the Sony Xperia lineup.

This is likely an artifact from the original MDSS DSI panel driver where
the calculation [1] corrected for a premultiplied reference framerate by
100 [2].  It does not appear that the above values were ever
premultiplied in the history of the DRM MDP5 driver.

With this change applied the value written to the SYNC_CONFIG_VSYNC
register is now identical to downstream kernels.

79f701ec9e drm/msm/mdp5: Configure PP_SYNC_HEIGHT to double the vtotal

Leaving this at a close-to-maximum register value 0xFFF0 means it takes
very long for the MDSS to generate a software vsync interrupt when the
hardware TE interrupt doesn't arrive.  Configuring this to double the
vtotal (like some downstream kernels) leads to a frame to take at most
twice before the vsync signal, until hardware TE comes up.

In this case the hardware interrupt responsible for providing this
signal - "disp-te" gpio - is not hooked up to the mdp5 vsync/pp logic at
all.  This solves severe panel update issues observed on at least the
Xperia Loire and Tone series, until said gpio is properly hooked up to
an irq.

6372aa9a78 drm/msm/disp/dpu1: icc path needs to be set before dpu runtime resume

DPU runtime resume will request for a min vote on the AXI bus as
it is a necessary step before turning ON the AXI clock.

The change does below
1) Move the icc path set before requesting runtime get_sync.
2) remove the dependency of hw catalog for min ib vote
as it is initialized at a later point.

5c49fc7b5d drm/msm/mdp5: Fix wait-for-commit for cmd panels

Before the offending commit in msm_atomic_commit_tail wait_flush was
called once per frame, after the commit was submitted. After it
wait_flush is also called at the beginning to ensure previous
potentially async commits are done.

For cmd panels the source of wait_flush is a ping-pong irq notifying
a completion. The completion needs to be notified with complete_all so
multiple waiting parties (new async committers) can proceed.

159869d420 drm/msm/dpu: fix clock scaling on non-sc7180 board

c33b7c0389 ("drm/msm/dpu: add support for clk and bw scaling for
display") has added support for handling bandwidth voting in kms path in
addition to old mdss path. However this broke all other platforms since
_dpu_core_perf_crtc_update_bus() will now error out instead of properly
calculating bandwidth and core clocks. Fix
_dpu_core_perf_crtc_update_bus() to just skip bandwidth setting instead
of returning an error in case kms->num_paths == 0 (MDSS is used for
bandwidth management).

add event thread to execute events serially from event queue. Also
timeout mode is supported  which allow an event be deferred to be
executed at later time. Both link and phy compliant tests had been
done successfully.
