Check your connection
It looks like you’re offline. To connect to Wi-Fi or mobile data, here are steps you can try:
Connect to Wi-Fi
Step 1: Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on
- Go to your Wi-Fi setting.
- Make sure Wi-Fi is on and you’re connected to a network. To connect to a network, you may need to enter a password.
Step 2: Fix connection issues
For more info, tap an issue below. If these steps don’t fix the issue, turn off Wi-Fi, then follow the steps below to try connecting to mobile data.
Wi-Fi is on, but you’re not connected to a network. Follow the steps above to see if Wi-Fi is on and you’re connected to network.
You're connected to a Wi-Fi network but not to the Internet.
- Make sure you've chosen the right network.
- If you’re using a public network (like at a cafe or airport), see if you need to sign in. On your phone, open Chrome, then open a webpage to see if there’s a sign-in screen.
- If you control the network, restart the modem. Unplug the modem from the power outlet, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in. Wait 2 to 3 minutes for the modem to reconnect.
Your device has a weak connection to the Wi-Fi network or it's still trying to connect.
- Make sure you've chosen the right network.
- Move closer to the Wi-Fi router.
- If you control the network, restart the Wi-Fi router. Unplug the router from the power outlet, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in. Wait 2 to 3 minutes for the router to reconnect.
Connect to mobile data
Step 1: Make sure mobile data is turned on
- Go to Mobile data or Cellular data (whichever option appears).
- Make sure the switch is on.
At the top of your screen, you should see your signal strength. If you see a no-signal icon, go to step 2.
Step 2: Fix connection issues
- Go to Airplane mode > turn the switch on, then off.
- Restart your device.
- Move to an area with better mobile data connection.
If these steps don’t work, follow the steps above to try connecting to Wi-Fi.
Still can’t connect
If your device still doesn’t have a Wi-Fi or mobile data connection, contact your service provider.
What happens when you get connection
Google will automatically retry any searches you did while offline. After a few minutes, you'll get a notification with the results.
If you don't want to get notified, open the Google app > at the top left, tap the menu > Settings > Offline search > turn off "Always retry searches."
